Correcting yesterday's widely off guesstimates:
Number of guilded characters on March 13 209 (incl. alts, 3rd slot, multiple accounts, inactive players and active players): 8368
Number of guilds : 334
Guild membership average : 25.05
Of which:
42 PA have 5 members
108 PA have 6-9 members
89 PA have 10-19 members
36 PA have 20-29 members
13 PA have 30-39 members
9 PA have 40-49 members
5 PA have 50-59 members
6 PA have 60-69 members
6 PA have 70-79 members
1 PA has 80-89 members
1 PA has 90-99 members
14 PA have 100+ members
2 PA have 200+ members (VR > ARES)
2 PA have 300+ members (KOTOR PA > GFF)
Taking minimal bracket value: 50% of characters are either in the lower tier or the upper tier of player associations.
If we guesstimate 25% of unguilded characters (it's vet server with lots of multiple accounts and few new players), that would bring Scylla to a total population of app. 10 000 characters.
These stats could be crossed with the GCW stats and the city ranking updates (though, it may still be possible to reside in two different cities) to give a more complete picture of a server population.
In Scylla's case, it seems that the 10 000 population guesstimate is strongly limited by : inactive players, 3rd slots, multiple accounts, which bring the active amount of players very low.
Well, that was my two bits of the day.

Scylla CTS meeting

On Sunday, Scyllans met in C'net to discuss the issue of the character transfer (thanks Sugarlizard and Gatharta for organizing). The meeting was an opportunity to hear representatives from other servers as well as from Scyllan guilds about where they were planning on going.Flurry, Starsider, Eclipse, Chilstara, Sunrunner seem to have gotten the largest interest, while Bria did not seem to be a favored destination.
Euro-Chimaera will be one destination and Tarn / Ibaoki will serve as a contact point for Europe-based Scyllans wishing to transfer there. In early January, TMB will be renamed European Transferring and a sister guild in Euro-Chimaera Scyllans Refugees will be created. It is likely that Ibaoki will transfer early to set up the guild, with Tarn following with the CTS.
An official announcement will be posted on the fora early January
...In good spirit style, the meeting ended on massive pvp...

European Players
Scylla's low population makes it even harder for Europe-based players, logging in late afternoon or early evening means that chances to meet someone are pretty low, much less to do an instance. With this realization, it became obvious that Europe-based players, "euros", needed to be able to find one another to group.
Thus, few days ago, we launched a roster of "euros", hailing from the shores of the Atlantic ocean to the eastwards European borders, to be able to group at decent hours. This roster may become a "Euro" guild if enough people want to, but for the time being, it's a convenient way to get together and play together, regardless of faction.

From Tatooine to Ord Mantell to Ord Mantell to Lok to Dathomir
This was a busy instance run week end and it was good. It started on Friday evening with a successful Tusken King instance. The group was good (special kudos for Enkarn who teamed with yours truly in the Slums near Wattoo's), though we made it through phase II by a thread (1 citizen left). Phase III was a breeze.Ambiance was good and the constituting group enjoyed a good silly moment at Dantooine Mission Outpost to rebuff and replace those that left (see this dancing pic, notice the flourish :).
With such a good moment, about half of the group signed up for ISD and other good friends (Kohaeg and Brite) joined up. With some lazy flying with the yacht we arrived undisturbed aboard the ISD and painfully moved from the landing bay to the corridor. After that corridor, it was mostly a piece of cake.
24h later, new ISD run, again, from Dantooine Mission Outpost as a starting point, the group took a little moment to constitue, but what a group! The fastest ISD run I was given to do (less than 50mns, the "forced entry" buff was still on for a good moment when we were dividing loot at Coronet Spaceport). Needless to say that all went well.
How to resist doing some more ? Not possible, and off to Lok for the IG-88 instance. With a meticulous clearing of the droids outside, it was time for all to go in...all but one who dropped group just outside the instance. Not a good idea really. Still, we perseverance, IG-88 was defeated but that was a bit exerting.
Still, not exerting enough, so we thought, for a third run. By then, daylight saving kicked in in Europe and granted this avid player an extra hour of gameplay (yay), and we launched to the bowels of Dathomir. There, however, tiredness, uncoordination, bad luck and miscommunication took the better of an otherwise good group. It was a good moment, intense and really, to be redone.
Overall, it was also the opportunity to add 4% of various skills, get 4 tokens and get closer to those prized jewelry sets.
Thanks for the runs all!
Treasure Hunting (IV)
This activity provides an endless fun. Not only its theme is evocative (treasures from the Jedi Enclave), but it provides an excuse for collections (Treasure Hunter) and the associated badge, some good loot, and last but not least, good moments spent with friends. In this occurrence, Enkarn and I (and the familiars and the droids) ended up digging six treasures for a, ahem, meager result. But it was good moment nonetheless and we had the opportunity to fight a fun looking opponent (see pic). As Obi Wan once said, "he's more machine than man".

TMB's mishappenings (VII)
Teradok Bear has left TMB (guild), but remains a citizen of our fine city. It is assumed his departure is linked to the guild's lack of activities. If such is the case, we hope that he'll soon find a guild to his liking. He remains welcome to guild or city events.

TMB's mishappenings (VI)
Skedra Vemid has left the TMB guild without providing an explanation. It is likely that her move follows her recent installation on Naboo and that she moved in with her housemates' guild. As for all TMB alumni, she'll remain welcome and may come back any time to TMB.

A Rebel theme park
Aye...Although Mayor Tarn Pagott's latest actions have been dubious from an Imperial standpoint, this time it was for a good cause, helping a fellow guildmember during the early stages of the Rebel Theme Park. It was a success, though a difficult one, which involved numerous trips to the cloning facilities, but TMB prevailed in the end, as always! It was also an opportunity to welcome Skedra back into the game after a break and exchange pleasanteries.

TMB Happening
Returning from a few months leave, Febostaf will take an active role in TMB again. Febostaf joined TMB at the time of the Twin Mountain Conclave and was a guild officer then. His input, skills and experience will be most welcome, and we're looking forward to work with him.
Welcoming back Af-ro
It's with great pleasure that we can welcome back Af-ro in Scylla, after a long absence, he's been back for few days now, honing his lightsaber skills as a level 90 jedi. We'll be thrilled to spend time and partake in quests, instances and heroics with him anew. /deepbow
TMB's mishappenings (V)
A bad day for the guild, with the departure of five estimed members, Brite Sunwalker, Iascoeto Fepa, Kohaeg Noubat, Vewock Eisis and Looser Bottom. Following a discussion with Kohaeg, the reasons for leaving are the difficulties in finding TMB members to partake in activities.
This departure comes as a rebuttal on the recruitment strategy in place in the guild. While concentrating on a recruitment with good players, with whom some gameplay had taken place, it made new (guild) blood rather rare and thus, the number of active players within the guild is falling. Beyond the recruitment issue, it's also the idea of first gathering a full strike team for events before going into events that is being questioned.
This should act as a reminder to organize events and to have a stronger input into guild activities. Thus, from now on, regular events, open to the extended TMB community will be organized so as to get as many people around. With luck, some may even come back into the guild, but at any rate, it will be a good opportunity to spend quality time with friends.

Welcoming back and welcoming
It's always a great moment when veteran players come back into the game or the server, Vurkuran, Revelations or Febostaf have dropped by within the last couple of days. It is our hope that they'll remain active and enjoy the new gameplay. Mostly, it's a great opportunity to chat and exchange news with friends.
Also, it is with great pleasure to announce that the TMB community (guild) increased yesterday with the joining of Looser Bottom (crafter 90), a long time friend.
Thus, while some were doing Heroics or GCW last night, others were levelling on Bounty Hunting, had great loot days (holocrons, backpacks) or were patiently waiting to singled out by Dark Vador for loyalty to the Imperial order.

New Member in TMB
Joining the TMB community (both guild and city), long term friend, Enkarn Lightmist (Jedi 90) will share the fate of our city, guild and community. His Mustafarian bunker is located behind the Eastern Heights, a breathtaking location. We wish him to find long lasting friendships and to feel at home within our ranks. Welcome !
TMB's mishappenings (IV)
Fluffy-Stitch removed himself from the guild a couple of days ago without letting his reasons known. While all options can still be considered, it must be noted that he didn't log once at the same time as this writer over the last three months. Thus, he may have had a server change or disappeared from the game. For the time being, we will assume that he actively logged once, if only to remove himself from TMB (guild).
On a sadder note, the Empire Day celebration was also an opportunity to meet with someone holding a longstanding grudge against fellow community member Nas Choka, whom he said attempted to "control everyone", presumably within the TMB/TWIN community (no dates were given). Since the discussion could not really take place 'I don't speak with anyone that relates to Nas', further explanations were not available.
However the grudge, the misrepresentations or whatever else, it is a clear example of how the reputation (famous or infamous) of a player affects the entire community. A lesson to heed.

Joining the TMB community
On Friday the 20th June, Brite Sunwalker joined the TMB community (guild). We're happy to count him among the members, though he had been a close friend for a long time now. As a leveling character after a respec' from trade, we'll all be happy to lend a hand whenever the need arises. Welcome Brite!
