Dantooine: Columns

218 2146, elevation 1. Across the river, columns from the Jedi Temple Ruin Culture. The columns are positioned in two rows of three columns, however, judging from the remains of columns on both sides of the river, it is possible that there were initially, two rows of five columns.

This JTRC site is quite unusual in that it bars a waterway, rather than espouse it (such as on a path, or alongside its banks).

This shows a greater aesthetical research among the JTRC than initially observed.

Dantooine: Arch & Ruin (II)

-752 2090, elevation 1. Just an earshot away from the Mining Outpost, on a small island in the middle of a lake is an open air structure from the Jedi Temple Ruin Culture.

The structure consists of one arch, oriented 85° NW, and seven pillars / columns placed in beehive position.

This structure adds to the already numerous sites left by the Jedi Order on Dantooine. As with most open air structure, its location seems to have been chosen for reasons that are at least aesthetic, but other reasons may also be explored.

Dantooine: Ruins (II)

-2485 3430, elevation 1. On an isthmus or landbridge between two lakes, a Jedi Temple Ruin Culture site of a roomed building, 7x10 at the widest.

This type of building has already been seen earlier during the exploration and shows the same asymetrical nature in the building shape. However, among the ruins are two stones not are unusual in appearance of Jedi Temple Ruin Culture sites. At the moment, it is not possible to determine whether the presence of these stones is coincidental or of significance.

Two novice Force mystics were present during the exploration of the site, perhaps on a pilgrimage.

Dantooine: Path & Arches

-3363 3546, elevation 0. On a natural landbridge across a lake, a site from the "Jedi Temple Ruin Culture".

This site consists of two arches bordering the landbridge and three sets of two columns alongside the landbridge. The arches carry the usual sword wielding statue, and the columns are devoid of any symbol.

The pathway length is 235x long.

Dantooine: Broken Pillars

-5169 2708, elevation 35. A site of the "Jedi Order Culture", six pillars atop a hill, overlooking a small lake.

While all six pillars are broken at various heights, two pillars are broken at the base, one of them lays scattered on the hill slope.

Two Novice Force Mystics are on location and while the temptation to discuss with them was rather strong, time constraints have not permitted a lengthy discussion.

Dantooine: Mysterious Shrine (II)

-6173 4120, elevation 35. This shrine, entirely identical to the previous one, is yet another testament of the Jedi Order on Dantooine.

Interestingly, whereas most sites related to the Jedi Order showed little concerns for dissimulation, or to the contrary favored exposition, the shrines, so far, seem to be located in remote areas or are well hidden.

Various explanations may be taken into account: sheer coincidence from a limited statistical sample, the willingness to chose a withdrawn area for rite secrecy, a perceived vulnerability of the user while at the shrine, an awkward place chosen in relation with the relative importance of the Force. Until other theories are explored, the latter one could, at least, be measured with dedicated instruments of measure.

Dantooine: Arch & Ruin

-4216 4246, elevation 34 (42 for the arch). A Jedi ruin, clearly identified by the statue on top of the arch and the statue at ground level. An old Jedi statue that appears to have been polished and repaired, it represents a Twi'lek Jedi armed with a blue-bladed lightsaber. The statue and the arch are facing South, with a 1° NE angle.

A forsaken Force drifter remains in the area, seemingly meditating in search of higher knowledge.

Dantooine: Marker

-1189 4111, elevation 11 (column), elevation 22 (totem). Overlooking a lake, this totem also overlooks a broken column of the Jedi Temple Ruin style. A Janta scout seem to remain closeby.

Dantooine: Ruins

-1033 5762, elevation 1. A two rooms building flanked by two columns, the architectural style matches the Jedi. Both rooms are 8x8; both columns are broken, but their bases seem to have suffered some cuts.

Dantooine: Mysterious Shrine

2163 7548, elevation 161. I had to backtrack to go to this location which did not figure on my maps, a local guide pointed me to it.

"A mysterious and timeworn shrine of unknown origin or purpose" was how it was described. Upon examination, of the three broken columns and the statue, all points to a Jedi Temple Ruin architecture.

The materials, style and designs match observed structures. The statue, similar from those seen in the Jedi Temple Ruin and in the Arch, can now be observed in details. It is a sword wielding cloaked / robed humanoid of unknown gender.

Curiously, the broken column in front of the statue reeks with visible bolts of energy that produces a crackling noise. A similar energy display was observed in the Lizard Cave, again on columns. This mysterious source of energy fails to register on my instruments, but auditory and visual perceptions confirm that it produces a physical effect.

According to my guide, the use of the word "shrine" denotes a spiritual / religious purpose of the structure. Asked whether he used it himself, he clearly indicated that the structure did not belong to his culture (native Dantari). Therefore, it is to assume that the term was used either in ignorance of the structure's culture or that knowledge and spiritual / religious practices have been known to the Dantaris. However the exactitude of the term, the location, well up in the hills, offers a grandiose viewpoint over the entire region and the peace of the place is bound to help meditative composures.

Dantooine: Ruins

442 4608, elevation 2. A lakeside one room Jedi Order building. The building had four columns inside it, two columns at each end. The room is 11x17 and is oriented 340° NW. The building widens slightly and the columns are not properly aligned. These features are highly unusual given the symmetrical features of Jedi buildings encountered so far or the Jedi Temple Ruins.

Dantooine: Arch

1180 5761, elevation 22. A decorated arch and passageway overlooking a lake. The arch and columns correspond to the Jedi Temple Ruins. The statue on top of the arch is similar to statues in the Jedi Temple Ruins and confirms that this architectural style matches that of the builders of the Ruins - and thus confirms that the Jedi Order used several locales in the planet for various purposes.

Four columns, broken at the top, flank the arch. The arch is oriented 270° W.

Beyond its archeological value, this site is truly stunning for the view it offers. Speculations about the finality of this structure remain, yet the absence of a closed wall structure strongly suggest that this place was of visitation.

Dantooine: Broken Columns

2065 5308, elevation 10. Six columns in the Jedi Temple Ruins style placed in a 17 paces wide circle. The columns are roughly 10 paces high, not including the base, judging from a broken one laying on the ground. The top of the columns is missing suggesting that they may have been taller or held decorative motifs, three are cut at the base, with only one still visible, broken in three pieces, on the ground.

Dantooine: Stone Building Ruin

5023 6874, elevation 16. The remains of a two-rooms building (12x9 and 21x9). The architecture is reminiscent of the Jedi Temple Ruins.

The building is oriented on a N/S axis (1°) and five broken columns lay inside and outside the building. Two columns nearby the smaller room and three columns nearby the larger room.

A large number of Force users seem to remain in the area, Force Sensitive Crypt Crawlers, Force Sensitive Renegades, Dark Side Savages, Force Crystal Hunters.

The larger area has an usually large population of Novice Force Mystics, Dark Jedi Knights, Dark Adepts, Untrained Wielders of the Dark Side, Forsaken Force Drifters or Dark Jedi Masters.

This concentration could confirm that these ruins - and by extension, similar ruins - where once used by the Jedi Order.

Dantooine: Ruins

-3877 6818, elevation 23. Ruins of a building and of a broken column in an architecture reminiscing of the Jedi Temple Ruins. The layout suggests at least two rooms, with the largest being 9x7 paces and the smallest 7x7 paces. The broken column is oriented 2° N.

The size of the rooms along with the column suggest some level of opulence for the building.

Excavation tools would be needed to further investigate this place.

Dantooine: Statue & Columns

-4976 6371, elevation 63. Three columns placed in a triangular fashion in the architectural style reminiscing of the Jedi Temple Ruins. The columns are broken at equal height and might have been used to support a roof or a ceiling. A Dantari statue is nested in the triangle, facing 280° NW.

The place seems to carry a strong religious and / or spiritual significance as a Mokk shaman remains in the place in permanence.

Dantooine: Statue & rocks

-5661 7078, elevation 23. A damaged wall and a broken pillar with an architecture characteristic of the Jedi Temple Ruins; the wall is oriented approx. 100° SE. A tilted Dantari statue is on the site, adjacent to the ruins, facing 180° South.

Force trained archaists, thune grassland guardians and a thune grassland herd leader are present in the area.

Whether the statue or the building came first remains unanswered at this point and an excavation will be needed. Unless the building and / or the area if the building is too recent is considered taboo or dangerous, the signification of the statue may not be linked to an identifiable danger.
